Things to consider when buying a pool

If you're trying to decide between an above ground pool and an in-ground pool, here are some things to consider before you go out and buy one.

? Shape: In-ground pools come in a variety of shapes (oval, square, kidney-shaped, or a combination) while above ground pools are typically only round or oval.
? Size: Above ground pools are smaller than in-ground pools, which can come in a variety of sizes to suit your needs. Of course, you'll spend less money on water but you'll also limit yourself to what you can do in your pool.
? The Deep End: An above ground pool cannot have a diving board because only some above ground pools have a deep end but they generally are only 6 feet which is not appropriate to dive from a greater height.
? Expense: Above ground pools are quite a bit cheaper than in-ground pools, sometimes only a quarter of the cost, so they are much more affordable. Sometimes under $1000.
? The Full Cost: What you save by buying a cheaper above ground pool, you may spend by building a deck and erecting a taller fence in order to maintain your privacy. An in-ground pool does not require a deck since you can walk on the ground and a fence only has to be regular height for your privacy.
? Installation: You can often install an above ground pool yourself by simply following the manufacturer's instructions. An in-ground pool will require a professional to install properly, adding to the expense.

So which is the right one for you? It all comes down to what you want to do in the pool.

Are you swimming laps? Are your children splashing around for fun? Are you teaching swimming lessons? Do you have the space to have a pool and other backyard space? Will your children use one type of pool now and a different kind in the future?

Above ground pools are good choices for group play, such as a fun game the water pulled over splashing around in the water on a hot afternoon. An in-ground pool, while more expensive, probably provides greater versatility because it also allows you to swim laps and have a slide and diving board.

The Benefits of Outdoor Pool Tables

Outdoor pool tables are pool tables that are designed and manufactured for use in an all-weather environment. They are made to be resistant or impervious to spills, mildew, stains, rips, snow sleet, humidity, rain, and roughhousing.

The bed is usually made of any of a variety of materials: slate, concrete, and resin. Slate is a heavy stone that is preferred by pool players worldwide. It is covered in a weatherproofing sealant such as epoxy. Concrete beds are mixed with fibers for strength and weatherproofing.

Resin beds are made of a one- to two-inch-thick, weather-resistant, high-density polymer. The rails are usually made of an acrylic or nylon fabric that doesn't allow liquids to penetrate beyond the surface. You can clean this surface with soapy water, or water with chlorine mixed in. The table surface should last 5 to 10 years, after which it can be refurbished; the body of the table (usually made of fiberglass, polyethylene, and/or aluminum) could last forever. Pool Ladders

Pool ladders are installed in almost all swimming pools. They are used to climb in and out of the pool. There is a wide collection of ladders available for both in-ground and aboveground pools. They are available in aluminum, white vinyl, structural plastic, resin and stainless steel materials. Color choice does not vary much, since painting them is not viable.

Some of them are lined with anti-skid material to avoid slips and falls. They come with easy assembling techniques and provide a few years warranty. They are available with outdoor equipment suppliers, hardware stores, pool accessories suppliers and on the Internet.

For in ground pools, ladders generally have 2-5 steps going towards the deck. The ladders could have a platform or could just land straight on the deck. The height and shape of the ladder should be compatible to your pool.

Various types of ladders suitable to vinyl liner pools and concrete and fiberglass pools can be found. They need to be...
