Outdoor pool tables are pool tables that are designed and manufactured for use in an all-weather environment. They are made to be resistant or impervious to spills, mildew, stains, rips, snow sleet, humidity, rain, and roughhousing.
The bed is usually made of any of a variety of materials: slate, concrete, and resin. Slate is a heavy stone that is preferred by pool players worldwide. It is covered in a weatherproofing sealant such as epoxy. Concrete beds are mixed with fibers for strength and weatherproofing.
Resin beds are made of a one- to two-inch-thick, weather-resistant, high-density polymer. The rails are usually made of an acrylic or nylon fabric that doesn't allow liquids to penetrate beyond the surface. You can clean this surface with soapy water, or water with chlorine mixed in. The table surface should last 5 to 10 years, after which it can be refurbished; the body of the table (usually made of fiberglass, polyethylene, and/or aluminum) could last forever.
Some manufacturers offer a convertible top, so that if you don't want to play pool, you can play table tennis or another game instead.
Outdoor pool tables generally run from $1000 to a few thousand dollars.
You might be wondering if outdoor pool tables "play" the same way as regular indoor versions. Perhaps there is a little bit of difference.
Outdoor pool tables have to be more impervious to the elements, so you might notice a slight difference in surface speed, spin, and other acts of pool physics. Other than that, outdoor pool tables are exactly the same. The dimensions are the same, the game is the same, and the standard rubber bumpers are covered in a felt-like material. Standard, indoor rubber rots outside, however, so some manufacturers use special, compression-molded rubber.
So why not give it a try? Your family and neighbors will get a kick out of being able to play pool by the swimming pool.

Above the Ground Pool - the Right Choice
With summer fast approaching, many families will be making the decision to finally get the pool they have been dreaming about for so many years. While you have the choice of getting an above the ground pool or an in-ground pool many families choose the above ground pool. One of the most common reasons most families decide to go with an above ground pool is the cost is considerably less expensive. While cost is a definite consideration there are other factors to take into account before making your final decision. Below are some tips and thoughts to consider:1.It is very important to first find out the rules, and restrictions in your county if any.
Additionally, if you live in an area that has a home owners association it is best to find out their own rules and regulations as well before deciding on an above ground pool. While you usually won't need a building permit in most areas for an above the ground pool, there may be standards you must follow - it is best to contact them...

Buying a Used Pool Table
Used pool tables are frequently available. Keep an eye on your local classified section for moving sales, yard sales, estate sales, and so on. You're sure to run across something eventually.
When shopping for used pool tables, ask all the same questions you would if you were buying a new pool table. What size is it: 7, 8, or 9 feet? What are the body, bed, and cloth made out of?
If the body is made out of more than one piece of solid wood or other material, check the connections for wear and tear. How sturdy is the table? Crawl underneath the table and have a look, as if you were a car mechanic.
Stand next to the table and give a shake or two, back and forth, and side to side. Bring a carpentry level with you. Set the table on even ground (as gauged with the level) and test the bed with the level. Shoot a couple of games of pool on it. How does the action feel? Is the ball trajectory hampered by inconstancies in the felt, either on the surface or...
